Joan designs exclusive knitted commissions with her clients. After a short consultation, she incorporates the available information into a distinct knitted / textile sculpture that captures the story's essence through the colours and shapes of the knitted elements. This can take up to 10 hrs of intricate work for a single figure depending on complexity.

Joan offers the opportunity to collaborate on:

  • A family creation
  • An angel with personalised details (e.g. personal gift, gift for a christening, gift for a remembrance)
  • A couple with personalised details (e.g. wedding or anniversary)
  • A new baby family creation
  • A creation celebrating pregnancy
  • An individual creation

  • An Angel for a Friend

    .... the votes are in and all counted and your beautiful angel has been voted No 1 best gift of the season.  She really is gorgeous.  Thank you for giving her to us - we will take care of her and think of you always when we look at her.  (sent to the gift-giver)

  • Angels for a Loss

    ....the two angels made it home last week and were received with so much joy and love. My friend's son who would have spent a lot of time with his grandma, called the angel 'grandma' straight away, without prompt. When his Grandad came to visit he was having a little cry.. and (the grandson) handed him 'Grandma' and said 'You can take her home for a night'. So she went for a sleepover. (The grandson) very much took to her. He even has her watching him doing the jigsaws which I think is a great comfort for his mum. So whatever you do, it works! Thanks you so much for your precious gifts Joan.

  • A Commission for Love

    Your (knitted sculpture) creation of us both was my wife's favourite, pride of place on the table Christmas Day! She absolutely loves it and keeps saying how clever all the intricate work is.

the nitty gritty

Each commissioned character starts at a minimum height of 8-10", with all other characters designed to fit within this scale. This sizing allows for the inclusion of requested details with greater realism and precision. The commission fee begins at €80 for a single character, with additional charges applied based on the complexity and intricacy of the design.

Each piece is crafted with care and attention, ensuring a truly unique creation that reflects the time and artistry involved.
