The Burren, often called 'The Fertile Rock,' is renowned for its stunning and unique floral display. This serene yet vibrant landscape is a nurturing place to live. Its colours and flowers are the central inspiration for the distinctive fabric designs of Woven Motion.

The way the gentian ignites the heart with its fluid and timeless beauty greatly influences the patterns Joan creates. She draws from the base colours of the limestone, grass, sunshine, summer sky, and the dark, cavernous depths hidden beneath the rock. The interaction of sky, land and water intricately shape all her designs and fabric choices.
Joan's products are available at The Burren Centre in her home village of Kilfenora, Co Clare. If you're passing through, be sure to call in.
In June and July 2024, Joan joined a group of talented creatives at the Design Bank initiative in Miltown Malbay, Co Clare. There are plans for this initiative to become a permanent fixture in Miltown starting in 2025.
Local businesses play a vital role in supporting the local economy. Joan participates in 'Meet the Maker' craft fairs from May to October in Ennistymon at the Falls Craft Fair (Saturdays) and in Ballyvaughan Co Clare with The Burren Arts and Crafts Fair (Sundays).
